Wasted years of tears & sorrows
NOT giving Him our tomorrows.
Always keeping Him at bay
Ever wanting our own way.
Oh how sad He must be
When He finds us on our knee
NOT asking Him what He wants!
Just pretending, so we are,
And God knows just how far
We will go in our walk
Especially when we DON'T ~
'walk the talk'.
We cry "Use me Lord" today
But He can't, to His dismay;
For we're in rebellion, so we are
And never trust Him very far
To lead us where He wants to go:
The Fruit of The Spirit to bestow ~
On others' lives.
For what it takes to do this
is the cleansing fire of God,
Fire which purges us of 'self'
when He applies the chastening rod.
Do it, do it, do it NOW,
But we cry "Wait, I don't know how!"
Yet we don't learn, nor do we want to,
Because dying to 'self' seems like voodoo.
