Happy ~Father's~ Day!
PLEASE ~ come in, won't you, &
hear a little about "My Dad"!
My Dad was an avid Fisherman & Hunter! He even won a
Trophy for catching the largest fish once! He loved the
outdoors & when we were growing up, we always had
lots of fish & fresh game to eat! My favorite fish was
'catfish' & my favorite game was 'wild rabbit'.
My Dad painted 'signs' for a living, climbing atop some
pretty tall ladders up onto water towers or the sides
of buildings. Sometimes he had to paint a sign indoors
that had to be hung, but mostly he 'worked' outside, too.
If you have read my "ABOUT ME" page, you will know that
he was there when I was born so God could use him to
help save my life. He again saved me from drowning when
we were on vacation & drove up to Maine to visit some
relatives. Things happened over the years & we never
saw each other for a long while, but a couple of years
before he died in 1999, I began to see him again & forgave
him for believing wrong things against me said to him by
my 1st stepmother thus kicking me out of the house while
I was going to College. I had been deeply hurt by this &
really never understood what I was supposed to have done
wrong. But God saw me through & became my Heavenly
Father in a much more 'closer' way. I also had a great
Stepfather, who also died 2 months after my Dad did.
The Lord gave me the following POEM for Dad after the
He had healed the wounds & ~forgiveness~ was made.
Thus helping me to understand more clearly HIS decision
to place me in this 'family'! Dad died 2/19/1999.

(Dedicated to my DAD ~Bill~ Happy Father's Day ~ 1998!)
Of all the 'Fathers' in this world
I'm glad that God picked you,
For if it weren't for you, dear Dad
I would have died when I turned blue!
God saw to it you kept me alive
So I could 'grow up' & survive!
You taught me truth & honesty
And made me use my 'crippled' bo-dy!
Exercise & 'discipline' ~
Were always there to help me win!
Tough love at times seemed mighty cruel
But it helped me ~ get through school.
The 'past' is gone
but my 'love' is not,
And I THANK YOU Dad
for 'caring' a lot.
Now the the Lord can use my life
in 'any' way He chooses,
For when He 'disciplines' our lives
no-one really loses!
All of us must learn this lesson
else we turn ~from God~ away,
For True Love from GOD, you know
will not always let you ~ have your way!
Spoiled brats & lazy children
can't be 'used' by God,
But, if we love & want to serve Him
He'll have to apply the chastening rod!
So ~ THANKS again ~ dear Father
for showing me the way ~
To be used by my 'Heavenly Father'
I must 'endure' discipline today!
With Love & Prayers, Patty
